Cedar Shakes
Cedar shakes if untreated will only last 10-15 years. Treated cedar shakes with preservatives will last up to 50 years.

Tile Roofs-Slate Roofs
Concrete Tile weighs approximately 10 pounds per square foot.

Lightweight Tile is made up of lightweight cement and wood or cellulose fibers. Weight is 6 to 8 pounds per square foot. A new home that specifies tile will have the proper structure to hold the weight of the tile. For an older home you should have your home checked to see if it can handle the weight load.

Slate Roofs – Other simulated shake and slate products which weigh less than 4 pounds per square foot can be used on your home. They can be more expensive but you may not have to put more support in your attic.

Discuss available options for your home when an experienced estimator comes to your home free of charge. The estimator will outline your needs and provide information about the best products to suit you. We strive to do a quality job at an affordable price.
